In the latter half of the twentieth century, the city of Baton Rouge doubled in size, and the Presbyterian Church established churches in growing suburban neighborhoods throughout the area. Among them were Sherwood Presbyterian, the forerunner of Faith Presbyterian Church, and Covenant Presbyterian, planted further to the east. More recently, the two Presbyterian churches merged, uniting two vibrant teams of Christian leaders and church members, and together they formed Faith Presbyterian Church of Baton Rouge, a local PCUSA body.
Faith Presbyterian Church is an elder-led Christian church family, committed to honor the person and work of Jesus Christ, the Lord’s call to serve others, and the regular study and application of God’s Word in all of life. The diverse church family includes charter members and regular visitors, teachers as well as students, business owners and retirees, lifelong Louisianans and others who have chosen to settle in the capital region.
Members of the church are actively involved in the community, participate in a variety of service projects and outreach efforts, and offer a style of contemporary worship that celebrates Christ in an engaging and authentic fashion while following widely recognized orders of worship and elements of Christian devotion.
Faith Presbyterian welcomes guests and invites you to share God’s call and the ministry of the Gospel of Jesus Christ on Old Hammond Highway in Baton Rouge.
